Why Choose Maternity Clothing

When our moms were pregnant, they didn’t have the option of maternity clothing, they had to make do with bigger size clothes or even men’s clothing but not anymore – expecting mothers today don’t have to compromise on style or comfort due to the boon that is maternity clothing.
Maternity clothing is made with extra fabric and details that keep you comfortable, like stretchy belly panels or empire waist ties, while at the same time flattering your body. They are meant to fit from the time your regular clothes don’t anymore straight through delivery and even when you’re nursing. There is a lot of really cute and flattering maternity wear available for expectant moms, enough to complement every mama’s style. Don't give in to the temptation to buy non-maternity clothes that are a size or two larger than you normally wear, as if you were simply packing on some extra weight. You'll end up with ill-fitting clothes that aren't nearly as flattering as properly tailored maternity wear.
Some essential maternity clothing includes:
Belly band: Ease into your pregnancy wardrobe with a belly band. It not only alleviates the pressure on your growing body, but it also holds up those unbuttoned bottoms so you can wear your pre-pregnancy wardrobe longer than expected.
Maternity Leggings: From that first-trimester bloating to those the final “How can I possibly grow anymore?” days, nothing will get more wear time during your pregnancy than great maternity leggings. Invest in a quality pair that will go the distance with you.
Jeans: If you don’t want to wear leggings every day, then get yourself a dependable pair of maternity jeans. From skinny to flare to boyfriend, we promise there’s a fit for every style, but it’s worth dedicating some time to trying them all on since it’s hard to know what will feel (or look!) good on those newfound curves.
Nursing Top: We get that a maternity shirt might not be high on your priority list when you can just size up, but a pregnancy shirt that doubles as a nursing top? Now that’s a smart investment.
Your Go-To Outfit: You are totally entitled to one major maternity splurge. Something that makes you feel like a million bucks every time you put it on. Something that works in every situation. Something you can dress up or dress down. That “go-to” is different for everyone, but something like our Juliet dress is a good place to start.
We loved having a maternity wardrobe and we continued to flaunt these clothes way after our pregnancy also. Are you someone who believes in having a maternity wardrobe? What have been your maternity wear must-haves?
